> Printing Plans to Scale on an 8.5 x 11 Sized Page

Using the iSqFt Plans and Specs viewer, you can print a zoomed in portion of a plan sheet to scale on a normal 8.5 x 11 sized page.

Start by opening the plan you wish to print from in the iSqFt Viewer and zoom into the section that you wish to print using the Zoom tool. With the Zoom tool selected, click and drag a box around the section of the plan you to zoom into.

When you release the mouse button you will be zoomed into the section of the drawing you selected. Using the Hand icon, click and drag to position the drawing so that the content you wish to print is located as close as possible to the top left corner of the viewer window. This will maximize the amount of the drawing that can be printed.

Next, click the Print icon located in the top left corner of the viewer window.

The Select Print Options box will display. Make sure the following options are selected:

  1. Your printer should be selected in the printer Name drop down menu at the top. This option tells the viewer which printer to send print job to.
  2. Select Current view under the heading Print range in the middle of the window. This option tells the viewer to print the view of the drawing that is currently displayed.
  3. Select Match printer resolution under the heading Auto scale in the lower left corner. This option tells the viewer to print the drawing to scale.
  4. It is also recommended to check the Automatic orientation box under the Options heading. This option will automatically rotate the drawing to best fit the page.

After these options have been selected, click Print in the lower right corner of the window to print the zoomed in section of the plan that is currently displayed to scale.

Note: If the zoomed in section you intend to print is larger than the printer's paper size, it will be cut off.
